"The SAFE (Secure Access For Everyone) Network, is a P2P decentralised data and communications network designed and built by MaidSafe.net and is currently in implementation phase . The network will compliment all existing centralised web services and data centres with a secure and anonymous network comprised of the spare computing resources of its users. It is anticipated that this new network will provide a more secure and private experience, whilst achieving higher performance as the network reaches critical mass."
What we don't like:
The project has a roadmap with no dates or time frame. A lot of rumors have been spreading in the community about the validity of the claims of the existence of the project. We believe MaidSafe does have a product that is being worked on, it is still a major obstacle in releasing a working product before there competitors like siacoin and storj. The inflation of the coin also makes for a not so friendly investment.
What we like:
MaidSafe allows for data storage to become more secure by decentralizing the storage and encrypting it. The more users maidsafe generates, the strong the network will be. Users can also generate income by renting out their storage and bandwidth space. Alpha testing is currently going on at the moment. The project has been in development for a few years and the company behind the project has been in existence since 2006.
