"Litecoin is a peer-to-peer Internet currency that enables instant, near-zero cost payments to anyone in the world. Litecoin is an open source, global payment network that is fully decentralized. Mathematics secures the network and empowers individuals to control their own finances. Compared to Bitcoin, Litecoin features faster transaction confirmation times (2.5 minutes) and improved storage efficiency. With substantial industry support, trade volume, and liquidity, Litecoin is a proven medium of commerce complementary to Bitcoin. Litecoin is the second most popular cryptocurrency."
What we don't like:
The threat to Litecoin is a faster currency. If Bitcoin became as fast as Litecoin once it gets on the Lighting network, then there is going to be a problem. Another concern is the fact that Charlie Lee cashed out his LTC to work with the Litecoin foundation in late 2017.
What we like:
Charlie Lee, the creator of Litecoin, referred to it as the silver to Bitcoin's gold. Charlie Lee has succeeded in achieving this objective. Bitcoin is an excellent store of value. However, it can be slow and expensive for small payments. Litecoin, is much faster and cheaper. Litecoin is much more realistic for everyday payments. Litecoin is a threat to fiat while Bitcoin is a threat to gold. Charlie Lee is actively involved in the community, and this keeps Litecoin from going through the forking and community disputes that often happen with BTC. Litecoin is also one of the more stable cryptocurrencies. The Litecoin website is inviting, making it one of the best cryptocurrencies for newcomers.
